At Revicasa we use thermal imaging cameras during our home inspections. A thermal imaging camera is a device fitted with an infrared sensor that displays real-time thermal images of any surface.
Our equipment: the Bosch Professional GTC 400 C
The model we use is the Bosch Professional GTC 400 C, a camera that lets us capture high-resolution thermal images. It reveals temperature changes across the home’s surfaces and has become an essential tool in our inspections.
Practical applications
A real-world example: while inspecting a detached house in Cádiz, we checked that an underfloor heating system was working properly. With the camera we confirmed that every circuit in the installation was giving off heat evenly and was therefore in good condition.
Main uses of the thermal camera
- Assessing the condition of insulation on façades and roofs.
- Detecting hidden damp and water leaks.
- Checking that heating ducts and pipes are working properly.
- Inspecting the condition of radiators.
- Locating draughts and air infiltration.
- Inspecting overloaded electrical components.
- Detecting cut or overheated cables.
- Identifying thermal bridges around windows, doors and roller-shutter boxes.
The images are displayed in real time on our architects’ iPads so they can add notes directly to the inspection report. That traceability allows us to deliver a clear, genuinely useful report for the client.
